Pocket App continues business momentum with this international partnership

Founded in 2007 and with more than 1 million subscribers in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh based MBuzz has a long established track record in connecting the local market to the world and building long lasting relationships with telecom operators. It is this expertise that Pocket App will look to leverage as it continues to expand its international footprint and source new business opportunities in the Saudi region.

Over the last 15 years the Middle East has witnessed key technology, and in particular mobile, shifts which have transformed the way we shop and do business. The region’s extremely young demographic (44% of the population are under 20 years old) is undoubtedly a key driving factor for the increasing levels of digital engagement we are witnessing, with over 125 million people online and over 53 million actively using social media networks. This means that the region has one of the highest mobile penetration rates in the world and leads when it comes to smartphone adoption.”
According to data from research organisation, Statista, the United Arab Emirates is the country with the highest smartphone penetration rate in the world with 73.6% of its population using smartphone devices. In 2014, some of the most advanced markets in the Middle East region include United Arab Emirates (55%) and Saudi Arabia (54%). Such penetration rates are higher than many developed countries and markets. For instance, the average for Southern Europe stands at just 45%, while Western Europe has about half its connections on mobile broadband networks and in Northern Europe around three in five connections are mobile broadband.
Continuing the strong business momentum Pocket App enjoyed in 2014, which saw it increase its business revenue by 30%, move its London office to larger premises in Whitfield Street following a 50% growth in staff, and increase the headcount in its Mumbai office from 55 to 90, Pocket App is now expanding into yet another territory. Additionally it has plans to open at least two other offices internationally over the next three months, via its partner network.
