The team at Pocket App recently supported a local charity – The HEBE Foundation , helping out at their annual junior apprentice scheme for local young people. This years theme was technology and Pocket App organised workshops to provide the participants with insight into the app and mobile industry. The support offered by Pocket App was aimed to help young entrepreneurs grasp the complex nature of designing and marketing mobile applications.
The Junior Apprentice, based on the hit television show ‘The Apprentice’ is an accredited Business & Leadership project active across 6 London boroughs. Beginning with an exciting 3 weeks of full time activities, between 140 and 150 young people (aged 14 – 19yrs) will battle it out over a series of team challenges which will develop, teach, and inspire each individual, while bringing forth the talents each one has in a fun, creative and safe way. Working within successful businesses and alongside the community, young people learn a wide range of transferable skills, from creating, marketing, pitching to a board of experts, to buying and selling. Great prizes are on offer including cash, tablets & vouchers! The project continues yearlong with opportunities including mentoring, work experience, workshops and various group activities.
