Samsung stole the show at Mobile World Congress with the announcement of its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6. Along with the equally captivating Galaxy S6 edge and its looking to retake its throne from the rival Apple which made inroads with its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.

These two devices are from completely different areas in the mobile space, but there are still some striking similarities between the two. Samsung has opted for its own 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor meanwhile, has its own proprietary 64-bit 1.39GHz dual-core A8 processor and 1GB of RAM.When it comes to thickness, the 6.8mm frame on the Galaxy S6 wins over the marginally thicker 6.9mm found on the iPhone 6.The design of the Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 comes with a few compromises non removable battery, SD card expansion, or waterproofing on either device.

Samsung has completely thrown away its plastic body look and incorporated metal sides and the glass back whereas  all-metal back adds a real feeling of quality to Apple iPhone 6. Apple’s iPhone 6 features a home button with a built-in fingerprint sensor called Touch ID. Samsung launched its own fingerprint sensor but has majorly improved it on the S6 which works exactly like Touch ID.Samsung is boldly promoting the photo-taking capabilities of the Galaxy S6, which features a 16MP camera. The camera is rated as an 8MP snapper but the internal optics have been upgraded and it’s capable of some outstanding shots in all kinds of conditions.Samsung has done away with the microSD card, and the Galaxy S6 comes in 32, 64, and 128GB variants while iPhone 6 comes in 16,64 and 128GB. Samsung has come up with Samsung pay which is similar to Apple Pay but it  has a leg up on Apple Pay, which is limited to working only at retail locations and outlets with the necessary equipment to process NFC payments.

It’s a tough one to call making a choice between rugged ecosystem of Apple, combined with a strong smartphone, or the brilliant design and power combo from Samsung. So which one would you go for?
